A new beginning... There is a special process called “expungement” that can be used to change your criminal record. The expungement process is available to residents and/or non-residents of the State of New Jersey. Expungement is a court process that can allow you to remove certain items from your criminal record, depending on the situation. The purpose of New Jersey’s expungement law is to give a person who has either one or very few convictions a “fresh start.” The law also provides for the removal of records of arrests where the arrest did not end in a conviction. |
